Neil McFarlane voted for TAMARAMA SLSC
Well it’s Sunday night and my son and I have just arrived home after the U11’s Development Camp in Deer Park.
To say we’ve had a fantastic and inspiring weekend would be an understatement ... from IRB patient and crewing to one and two person CPR to rescuing unconscious patients it truly has been an amazing weekend.
Judging by two other Junior Lifesavers who joined us they also had an equally great weekend. We all left and said our goodbyes from new friends from neighbouring clubs that extend from North Bondi right down to Royal National Park this afternoon.
Three inspiring individuals we met were the 2018 Junior Lifesavers of the Year, Sophie and Riley and Callum Hawkins. Sophie and Riley had several presentations for the kids - one on Pathways in Surf Lifesaving and one on Leadership. Callum recounted stories of where surf lifesaving has taken him - including Nippers in Israel and lifesaving in the USA.
Doug Hawkins has to be individually thanked for the incredible work he does behind the scenes making this happen.
Most importantly we’d like to thank Tamarama‘s Junior Lifesaving committee for offering us such an incredible opportunity. Also for the opportunity to ride an awesome waterslides
